Programs & Cost
We offer two different programs based on participant age
Competitive Play
This is for children from 6-14 years of age. Players belong to a team within a league that is involved in competitive play.
Season
A season consists of a spring and fall session. Each session consists of around eight games. We try to only play one game a week, but sometimes conflicts (weather, schedule) force us to play multiple games per week. The spring session runs from mid April to mid June, and the fall session runs from mid August to mid October. Practice schedules are at the coach's discretion, but most teams practice twice a week - especially as the kids get into the older age groups. Practices usually start one to two weeks before the first game of the session.
League
Almost exclusively, teams in the Oberlin Youth Soccer Association ("OYSA") are registered to participate in the Lorain County Soccer League ("LCSL"). Very rarely, teams are registered in other leagues such as the American Amateur Soccer League ("AASL"). The OYSA is a member of the Ohio Soccer Association ("OSA") through its affiliation with the LCSL. The LCSL is the governing body - they set the rules and regulations for the league, and the OSA is a state-wide promotional and support organization.
As the name suggests, the LCSL consists mostly of teams from communities within Lorain County, OH. Parents should expect to travel (usually on weekends, but occasionally on a weeknight) to any these communities:
Oberlin
Elyria
Grafton
Edison
Lorain
Vermilion
LaGrange
Columbia Station
Sheffield

Instructional
The instructional program offers a non-competitive environment where kids are introduced to basic soccer skills and allowed to develop them at their own pace.
There are two age groups: Younger and Older. The younger group consists of 3-4.5 year olds, and the older group is 4.5-5 year olds.

There are two "seasons" each year: Spring and Fall. Each season consists of eight, one hour sessions. Unlike withe the competitive program, there is a separate registration and payment for the spring and fall seasons.
